HIVQUAL in Uganda
HIVQUAL-Uganda History
HIVQUAL Uganda was piloted in 2006 with 7 core indicators in 20 clinics in 4 regions, and has since expanded implementation to 127 clinics in 42 districts and 12 regions. The current scope of program includes adult and pediatric HIV, PMTCT and HCT.
After baseline data collection, regional quality improvement trainings were held, in which each pilot site chose a focus area for improvement based on their own data. In December 2007, a second data collection was completed, showing improvements across most indicators and at most sites after the implementation of their quality improvement projects.
HIVQUAL Uganda is led by the Ministry of Health.
